One such device is the ‘Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro' from the renowned brand ‘Samsung'. Coming in a 5.5 inch and priced at a humble 20, 900 INR, it comes packed with Android Nougat coupled with a sleek design and finish. So, now, the main question is, should you buy it? Let's start with its pros and cons before coming to a decision, shall we?

Pros of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro

Samsung Pay – Decked with Samsung Pay, with Samsung Galaxy J7 pro, you can make your transaction without any worry without the need for any physical cards. All you need to do is to load the details of your card and then secure it with your fingerprints and you are done as the details will then be hidden within an encrypted vault. And since Samsung pay works in both MST as well the NFC devices, you can practically make transactions anywhere.

Battery life – Battery life is like the backbone of any smartphone and it is said that a good or a bad battery can either make or break the smartphone. Fret not, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro comes with a massive 3600mAh battery and will easily make it through the whole day with regular usage. It also comes with advanced battery saving mode plus having a nifty option of putting unused apps to sleep if it has not been used for three days.

Processor and screen – The device comes packed with a 1.6GHz octa core Exynos 7870 processor coupled with a 3 GB RAM. It also has a 14nm FinFET design, thus consuming 30 percent less power than usual and which in turn, manages to pull off both small as well as big tasks with ease. The screen also comes with a ‘Full HD Super AMOLED' screen and is known to come equipped with the classic feature of Samsung, the AOD feature, also known as the ‘Always on Display'. You also have the option to customize the AOD in such a manner that you don't have to wake up the screen of the device each and every time, a notification or message shows up on your device's screen.

Camera – The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is the first smartphone to have come with the first ‘Social camera'. With the social camera, you can click and send photos to your desired contacts in no time at all, plus you are also able to share the photos on Facebook and Messenger, all from the camera/ Now, isn't that amazing?

Memory card and SIM – The device also has the required slots for the memory card as well as for the SIM and which will let you use them to their fullest capacity. It also has a support for the USB OTG which lets you transfer files on the go since you will be able to connect the USB flash drives directly.

Cons of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro

Lack of USB Type-C port – Even though the device is priced at 20, 900 INR, it still lacks a USB Type-C charging port as it only comes with the micro USB port.

No fast charging – Another bad point of this device doesn't support ‘Fast Charge' or ‘Quick Charge'.

Lack of 4K video resolution – Even though the built-in social camera is a great option, however, when it comes to video mode, the device takes a few minus points. As found out, the device doesn't support 4k video recording as it is only found to support FHD, 1:1, HD and VGA.

Absence of glass protection – The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro doesn't come with any Corning Gorilla Glass or any form of scratch resistant technology. It is for this reason that you have to buy a sturdy case or even a tampered glass in order to protect the device, should you decide to buy it.

Heaviness – The device weighs 181 grams and as you can see, it is a bit on the heavy side. Even though it is slim and has a 3600mAh battery, it would have been better if the weight factor was worked on a bit more.

What's the verdict? Should you buy it or not?

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, overall, is a great device. Coupled with the processor, AMOLED screen, software and with the addition of the social camera, it makes a great buy. However, for a device that is priced at 20, 900 INR, it could have done a lot better. For instance, some of the competitors of Samsung – Xiaomi, Motorola – are also offering the same specs, albeit with a few more tricks and that too, with a low price tag, the Samsung Galaxy J7 clearly lies at a disadvantage. But if you think that the integration of Samsung Pay and the social camera is worth the extra bucks, then, by all means, go for the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro.
